I found raising the Spacemouse a little made it more comfortable for me. I don't think putting anything inside to make it heavier is needed, but you certainly could.
It raises by 32mm. There are Ø13mm (~1/2") pockets on the bottom for putting rubber feet. Grippy pads are essential to keep it in place.
