Drop your dice into the crown and they bounce off two baffles, roll down the exit ramp and come out through the arched gate into the tray. The baffles overlap, so nothing falls straight through, and there is at least 31 mm of room everywhere inside, so d6, d20 and every die in between roll freely. The tower is two halves that print lying down; the crown slides over the top and the tray's collar holds the bottom, so it needs no glue and comes apart for storage.
4 printed parts
16 × 11 × 19 cm assembled (L × W × H)
≈ 0.3 kg filament in total
165 mm bed length for the tower halves, which print lying down; the tallest part standing up is the crown (35 mm)
Parts
Tray: The dice land here: 110 × 150 mm with an 18 mm rim and a 1.2 mm recess in the floor for a felt sheet. The collar at the back holds the foot of the tower with 0.3 mm play.
Size: 150 × 110 × 18 mm
Print: Flat on the bed, no supports.
Filament: ≈ 80 g
Left half: One side wall with half of the front and back walls, the two baffles and the exit ramp, all at 35°. Three 2 mm holes in each cut edge take filament pins.
Size: 165 × 72 × 29 mm
Print: Lying on its outer side wall, cut face up. No supports: every ramp is a straight wall in this position.
Filament: ≈ 83 g
Right half: The mirror image of the left half.
Size: 165 × 72 × 29 mm
Print: Lying on its outer side wall, cut face up. No supports.
Filament: ≈ 83 g
Crown: The battlements with four corner turrets and a funnel mouth. It slides 12 mm down over the top of the tower with 0.3 mm play and holds the two halves together.
Size: 97 × 83 × 34 mm
Print: Upright, no supports: the ceiling over the socket is a 45° slope.
Filament: ≈ 42 g
What else you need
6 pieces of 1.75 mm filament, 10 mm long, as alignment pins between the two halves.
Optional: a self-adhesive felt sheet, 1 mm thick, cut to 100 × 64 mm with rounded corners, for the tray. It makes the dice quieter.
Fits dice up to about 25 mm across, so a standard d20 and 16 mm d6 roll through easily.
Print settings
0.20 mm layer height
3 walls
15% gyroid infill
PLA or PETG material
For a 0.4 mm nozzle. Filament amounts are estimates for these settings.
How to build it
Print the parts: Print the two halves lying on their outer side wall, the crown upright and the tray flat. None of them needs supports. Turn on elephant's foot compensation, or scrape the bottom edges of the halves, so the tower drops into the collar easily.
Fit the pins: Push a 10 mm piece of filament into each of the six holes in the cut edge of one half. If a pin is loose, put a drop of glue on it.
Join the halves: Press the other half onto the pins until the cut faces meet all along the tower.
Put on the crown: Hold the halves together and slide the crown down over the top until it stops.
Stand it in the tray: If you use felt, stick it into the recess first. Then lower the tower into the collar at the back of the tray, gate to the front.
Roll: Drop your dice into the crown. They come out of the gate into the tray.
Dice and the filament pins are small enough to swallow: keep them away from small children.
