A simple 3D-printable snap-fit enclosure for an IR sensor, available in three versions.
The enclosure consists of a base and a snap-on lid. The cable can be secured to the lid using zip ties for strain relief.
Features:
Snap-fit design – no screws needed to close the enclosure
Cable strain relief using zip ties
Accessible potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment
Two holes to see the onboard status LEDs
Three mounting options
Versions:
Front-facing with mounting holes: For the original sensor configuration, with two screw holes for mounting.
Down-facing with mounting holes: For a modified sensor with the IR diodes repositioned to point downwards.
Down-facing without mounting holes: Same as version 2, but without the mounting tabs.
Note: For the down-facing versions, I desoldered and repositioned the IR LEDs on the sensor PCB. The front-facing version works with the sensor as supplied.
