A 3d printed Litho press for printing stone lithographs. Admittedly this press runs up to the limits of plastic, and can only print lithographs on thin papers (i.e. kitakata, newsprint, masa) To print on thicker western papers like stonehenge, BFK, Arches, etc... you should lightly dampen your paper before printing. This press features the same format and frame as my etching press, but needs a lot more hardware because of the complexity of the moving parts and the focus on repairability this time. You can download the manual and see if the workload seems manageable for you before printing.
You should have a 3d printer that can print 250mm x 250mm x 250mm.
The press should be printed in PLA for its stiffness. I have tried ABS and it does not deliver enough pressure.
I made these files free because I want to make printmaking more accessible. If you want to support my years of research, consider buying the STEP file version of this model or donate to my buy my a coffee page.
