This a replacement for the original ventilation grid to protect the Einsy motherboard from dust.
You can install it even if you have the original grid installed to the inside or outside. You don't have to remove the original grid.
Because the airflow will be limited, it's a good idea to have a fan installed on the inside. I recommend this cooling duct combined with a fan:
