Laptop Stand

This laptop stand is based on the design  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2927632, by sysys on Thingiverse.  

Technically, this is not a remix in that the original model was not used to create this model due to problems with FreeCAD v0.19.3 not being able to successfully modified the original STL files after rendering them as solids.  Instead, I designed it from scratch in FreeCAD v0.19.3 using measurements from the original design by sysys.

I liked the original design.  It worked well for my Lenovo Yoga 720-15ikb laptop with one problem.  It turned out that the lower end of the stand on the right side touched the power button on the Yoga, occasionally turning it off.  My idea was to do a remix where a notch was removed from the right stand so that it no longer touched the power button.  FreeCAD was able to turn the STL file into a solid that could be modified but all my attempts to cut a notch out failed.

My design is similar to the open top laptop stand from the original model though the dimensions and angles may not match.  The two changes made were the notch for the power button which are on both the left and right stands and the cooling holes.  The original model has a series of square holes.  My model has circular holes.  Personally, I prefer the square hole design but lacked the skill (or patience) to reproduce them in my version.

The FCStd file contains the FreeCAD design and holds three models; the left stand, the right stand, and a stand without the cooling holes.  The stand without the cooling holes is a good place to start if you want to remix this model with different holes.  Once you add your own cooling holds, create a mirror image to get the stand for the other side.
