The Gyroid partitions the space into two unconnected, infinite subspaces, which is what we can see here printed in two colors. We're effectively looking at the empty space as opposed to what is normally printed as infill (with a generous border, so that we can see through).
This is closely related to the Laves graph which defines the construction of the Gyroid, although this model has been constructed by sampling at a fixed distance from the minimal surface.
The files laves_gyroid_a/laves_gyroid_b are identical to laves_gyroid and are included if your slicer doesn't support splitting a solid into parts.
