To cut back on the plastic waste I switched to refill spools. The design by CyperTech (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4816681) was the best I was able to find. However, while my Fiberlogy spools worked fine, the 3DJake spools were significantly slimmer and plain didn't fit. So I made a few minor alterations to the basic design of the core with a slim and a reglar version.

The wheel I redesigned from scratch to be more sturdy and more in line with the Prusa design language. Furthermore, I added holes to retain the filament end. Of this there are also two versions: One with smaller diameter hole according to the masterspool standard. I also made a version with a larger hole to accomodate a desiccant container (I use this design: https://www.printables.com/model/67857-fast-print-in-spool-desiccant-silica-gel-container).

I printed all parts in PETG to make drying at a bit easier. However, structurally PLA should be fine as well. Also you will need 6x M6 hex nuts and 6x M6x16  countersunk screws to put the parts together.

Update: Made the diameter a bit larger to allow for different designs.
