Here is a video showing all the options

There is 1 “back” option and 3 “face” options.

  • Standard face - There are holes for LEDs. Some people don't like this because one can argue that the colors of the individual LEDs for each color don't blend well. You may struggle printing the circles on the first layer if you don't have proper first layer calibration, and enough texture in the bed to keep them in place. Try to use 4 walls and make sure they print from larger to smaller.

  • Diffused face - There are no holes for LEDs, instead, it relies on a single layer of material to act as a diffuser. The LEDs remain hidden while the meter is off. You need a proper first layer calibration for this to come out well. Bed adhesion is great, easier to print.

  • Externally diffused face - There are holes for LEDs, but also for mounting a full face diffuser. This requires that you get a diffuser that covers the whole face and mount it on top of the face. It helps hide imperfections in the face of the gauge if your printer bed is not great for instance; and/or it provides a super clean look if you use acrylic for instance.

Both faces and/or the external diffuser are assembled together with M3x8 (M3x6 if you plan to use the external diffuser) countersunk bolts.
2 of the rear bolt holes serve as M8 mounting holes for the meter itself.

I've provided a few mounting solutions for the meter:

Changelog

  • 2023-07-19 - Added v0.2 version. These have very minor improvements over the older version, and may not be compatible (likely due to tighter assembly tolerance). Only use compatible version Face and Back. “Diffused” is deprecated. Only standard and externally diffused from here on.

  • 2026-02-28 - removed links to etsy, no longer available for purchase
