This is a modified version of the slide from PieterB's “The PrintBone: a fully printable playable trombone."

Because I live in America, the correctly sized PVC pipes I needed to print PieterB's slide are not available. Fortunately, he provided the OpenSCAD parametric files for the model and I was able to change the tube sizes to what I could find in the US (With a lot of help from PieterB).

This version fits the ½ and ¾ inch PEX tubing/piping you can find at the hardware store here in the United States. My hardware store sells them in 5 ft lengths, which are about the perfect length so there isn't too much waste. I used the blue tubing, but red and white should work just the same.

I cut the tubing to approximately 26-27 inches in length, using my own trombone as reference. From there, I shaved off a bit from the ends until the tuning was about right.

I provided the stockings generated by the OpenSCAD program, but they seemed to be too thick, and I found that the PEX had good enough tolerances that the trombone could create a decent sound without them.

There is a file for a large shank inner slide grip. However, because the inner diameter of the ½ in. PEX is a little small, I could only ever get the small shank leadpipe to fit.

For the bell, I printed PieterB's “The PrintBone v1.1: a fully printable playable trombone."

For the mouthpiece, I used this 6.5 AL model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3225616
I also printed a 1.5G using PieterB's Mouthpiece Customizer: https://www.printables.com/model/80021-improved-trombone-mouthpiece-customizer

Printing Instructions:

To print this, I followed the instructions and print setting suggestions from the original model.

I did add a raft to each of the parts because I found that some of them had a tendency to warp, and I printed the leadpipe with vase mode.
