I grew tired of losing the little red straw that comes with spray cans of lubricants and other aerosols. Who among us has not tried to insert the straw back into the strip of cellophane tape, right? Of course, most times the straw is slathered with the lubricant that it is used to neatly dispense, so the tape is just a decoration.
The Straw Keeper is a nice little gadget printed in PETG that clips to an aerosol spray can. The little red straw inserts into the hole, and is securely held in place by the unique shape of the hole.
The .3mf file included here is configured for MK3S+ with 0.2mm layers and lots of perimeters using a 0.4mm nozzle. The layer thickness helps with straw insertion. The perimeters ensure that the model is printed solid.
The printer configuration includes custom gcode that keeps the nozzle somewhat cool during bed leveling to avoid the glob of filament that occurs at the beginning of every print. You know how it goes - on small models the glob ends up on the model instead of the intro line or skirt.
This gadget worked well on the third iteration of the design. I wish my other projects worked out that quickly!
