Simple replacement tassels for blind drawstrings. The shape is ovoid to loosely mimic the old ones that came with the blinds we have. The shape is comfortable to grip and pull.
Print Details:
- Material: PETG (not critical)
- Layer Height: Adaptive (important for smooth edges the entire length of the part)
- Perimeters: 3 until 22mm in height, then 4 (very important if not using infill, as at 22mm the 4th perimeter is needed to prop up the steep outer surface.
- infill: 0% (speeds up print)
- Ensure Vertical Shell Thickness: Disabled (speeds up print)
- Seam position: aligned (important for clean appearance)
Optional Print Settings:
- Fuzzy Skin: all outer surfaces
- The specific settings are up to the individual persons aesthetic, but I used .2mm thickness and .6mm point distance
- This adds some texture to the tassel. We didn't wind up using it, but I think with the right blinds it might really work out well.
- See example photo for what this looks like
Oddly this has been the most useful print I have made to date for around the house. We have some old blinds where the plastic on the tassels has started to deteriorate (see picture). I have printed enough of these to go through and just replace all the tassels in our house so that they are all the same. I used the original plastic washers instead of the one shown here. At the time I am posting this Prusa just recently came out with the new aligned seam position setting which has done wonders for the part appearance.
