If your car has keyless entry then there is a risk of having your car stolen. A ‘booster’ can be used to boost the signal emitted by your key to let the car think the keys are nearby. The car can now be unlocked and started.
Avoid this by storing your keys in a faraday box.
Print this box and cover it with aluminium foil. Start by rolling the foil around the outside of each section (tape the start and the finish - I also recommend 2 revolution to be stronger). Then push the top section inside the box and the bottom section on top of the box. Make sure all the outside section are covered. Make sure the foil of both parts of the box touches when close – it is important to have continuity and for the box to work.
Once you have covered the top and bottom parts of the box you can fit your key inside. Take the box with the key inside and go try to open your door. If it doesn’t work, you’re safe.
