“This plane can flap its wings and fly like a bird.”

It requires some work, but you enjoy making it.

~Things to prepare other than 3D printer output products~

  • 3D printed parts ….1SE
  • Plastic straw ….2EA (diameter 4mm, length 130mm)
  • Plastic straw ….1EA (diameter 6mm, length 90mm)
  • Plastic filament ….1EA (diameter 1.75mm, length 110mm)
  • Piano wire with a diameter of 0.7mm (Replaceable with paper clip)
  • Thin plastic bag (280mm x 110mm)
  • Rubber band ….2EA
  • Double-sided tape
  • Instant glue

* If necessary, enlarge the hole in the rotating part with a precision screwdriver/drill or the like.
* Use instant glue to fix each part.
* A filling rate of 100% is recommended.

~How to make~

  1. Bend the 0.7mm piano wire to create a "place to attach the rubber".

  2. Pass through the hole of part A.

  3. Bend the piano wire at a right angle 5mm from the root. Bend in the opposite direction 8mm further to make a crank.

  4. Pass part B through the plastic filament. Fix it at 10mm from the filament tip.

  5. Pass the filament through the hole in the neck of part A from the back, and insert part C from the front to fix it.

  6. Put the metal crankshaft into the groove of part C and fix it with part D.
(Part D can be cut to any length.)

  7. Pass the two rubber bands through the part E as shown in the image. Then pass it through a 6mm straw and take out the rubber end from the other side. Put the rubber you took out on the hook on the front of the body, and put the front part of the straw on the socket on the front of the body.

  8. Cut the plastic bag into isosceles triangles 280mm wide x 110mm high. Paste double-sided tape cut into 1mm width thinly on the height and base of the triangular film.

~How to fly~
  • Rotate part D while keeping part A fixed with your dominant hand.
  • Hold the part D with the free finger of your dominant hand so that it does not rotate, and throw the plane forward.
  • If it does not fly well, adjust the tilt of the filament.
