The reclining sofa I have had very cheap plastic buttons and the clips/flanges that keep them in place eventually broke off or were rubbed flat. Answer: caliper measurements, 5 model iterations, and some frustration. Works great in my couch, hope it works in yours.
The first two pictures are of the original rocker switch (for accurate referencing) and the third is of the final 3D printed one in place.
Print on model's side (with supports) so that the layers reinforce the tall, but thin, support pillar. I included the .3mf file that represents exactly how I printed this.
