Ok, don't laugh, but this is a legitimate print! How frustrating is it when you have to replace a perfectly good toilet seat because the bumpers located between the seat and the seat cover fail? Most of these fail long before the toilet seat needs to be replaced and was the reason why I made these replacement parts.

It couldn't be any easier to replace the old broken bumpers. Simply remove the existing bumpers and the posts broken off in the seat with long nose pliers and press these replacements in. That simple, done!

I printed these replacement parts using TPU with the following settings:

  • Overture TPU - White - Print very slowly for best results
  • 15% infill / gyroid pattern
  • .4mm nozzle
  • .2mm layer height
  • 4 layers top and bottom
  • 3 perimeters
  • no supports needed

Note:

You may need to trim the length of the pins on these bumpers. I noticed that the holes drilled on my seat were not a uniform depth. Simply trim a small amount with cutters if needed and a utility knife to taper the ends to make insertion a little easier.
