Designed completely from scratch around ICOMs STL Model of IC705. It was printed and improved in at least 5 iterations until it was release-worthy.

Housing is a tight fit and should protect IC705 in outdoor use from all sides without blocking access to any of the features.  Built in feet for better angle on table with recesses for glued on rubber pads.

Uses four M4x12 countersunk screws to fix Icom in housing and leaves a small but constant gap all around the radio. If it accidently drops, it should act like a car bumper and will be destroyed but protect radio from worse. I did some drop tests (empty) and when you use the right material at the right temperatures it will not shatter, but just break.

It is featured with a hole to attach a carabiner to strain relief the mic cable.

It supports BP-307 and BP-272, meaning it is beefy enough so the bigger battery will be protected too.

And the Best Part: It has a clip on Front cover, so you can throw it in your rucksack without worrying about display being scratched or knobs damaged.

Cage is printed in one piece (no assembly needed) with supports.

Cover is printed seperately and just clipped on. File is without my Callsign on the front, but carries lettering “by DL2MAN” in some non-disturbing places.

I printed it from PETG with at least 3 outer shells, 25% Infill
