Filming velomobile rides with the Insta360 One X2 resulted in two broken mounts. The camera sits on top of the hood and vibrations from riding put a lot of stress to the mount.
Removing the battery weight from the camera reduces the stress to the mount. I took apart a cheap replacement battery to use it's cover only (for protection against dust and water). – Since the camera is connected to a powerbank while riding (so I do not need to worry about battery charge or even swapping batteries) anyway, taking out the battery doesn't really change my setup.
Battery cover + cable guide weigh about 29 grams less that a battery.

To reduce stress from the USB cable to the camera's jack, the cable guide is glued onto the battery cover and holds the cable with a cable tie. The cable then cannot move any more and stays outside the field of view. Take care to insert the cable tie right way around.
You can alter dimensions in FreeCAD via the dim spreadsheet. Diameter of the cable and it's distance to the battery cover are most likely subjects to change.

Printing
