INTRO:

  • The printed model shown in the photographs is Version 5. It works, but I didn't like the placement of the SD Cards on the side. It made it difficult to remove the XQD Cards when there were SD Cards in the container. Version 6 has corrected this problem by reducing the XQD card capacity to 6, and moving the SD card slots to the sides. Nothing else about the design was changed.

  • I needed a travel container for my XQD Memory Cards. People had designed desk caddies and boxes for XQD Cards, but I didn't like the other designs I found, so I modeled and printed my own in Fusion 360.

  • This version holds 6 XQD cards, 2 SD Cards, and 4 Micro SD Cards. The threads are offset so the lid sits flush with the rest of the case. The extrusions have a .1mm tolerance, so the cards should fit snug but be easy to pull out. I included a small camera decal which is printed separately and glued onto the top. I think it looks pretty snazzy.

PRINTER SETTINGS:

  • Printed in Spool3d PETG (Matte Black) and Spool3d PETG (White). I use PETG for the added strength and heat-resistance.

  • Printer settings I used are:
    • 0.4mm Nozzle
    • 0.2mm Speed
    • 20% Infill (15% is probably fine)
    • 250C Nozzle
    • 90C Bed
    • PEI Powder-coated Steel Sheet

SLICER SETTINGS:

  • Supports on bed only.

  • I've added a fillet to the top of the lid, and bottom of the case. Anyone who's tried to print fillets knows how annoying they can be. If you print with bed-supports, it should work perfectly.

ATTACHMENTS:

  • I've included the gcodes and .stls for quick printing, as well as the .3mf if you want to remix this and create your own versions.

  • I think I selected the correct License for this. It should allow you to remix it if you want. I just don't want people selling this commercially.
