So I bought a volcano hotend and I did not like the nozzle holders that I found. So I created this. A parametric design that allows for full customizability. from the tolerances to the number of nozzle holders to the chamfer on the ridge for the lid. Includes threads which makes the lid optional. while this one was not a project for my cad class it was nice practice for the certification test I will be taking.
I wanted this design to be fairly efficient and easy to print while still looking nice. prints quickly (around 20 minutes for a lid and box). the single nozzle boxes are small (v6 is about the same size as a 20mm calibration cube).
It even fits volcano nozzle adapters
let me know what sizes people would like. I included a 4x4 size.
notes:
tolerances are 0.25mm
lid can be tight to get off but should loosen over time
threads can be tight at first so a wrench is recommended to insert and remove the nozzles. fits a standard size ¼" socket.
To modify this design to fit your needs:
- download the .f3d files and open them in fusion360.
- go to the modify tab and find “change parameters” (second to last option)
- change what you want - some settings can mess up the model if you use improver values - keep it sane.
- post edits you make as a remix to share with the class
print settings:
layer height: 0.12mm
infill density: 13%
speed: 120mm/s
