The top mount spool holder is designed specifically to minimise desk space and also minimise filament travel distance. In my case the Ender 5 sits on the right side of my computer desk and the standard spool mount takes up quite a bit of space to the right of the Ender 5 frame. This spool holder sits a lot higher and out of the way but is still convenient to reach specifically if you have a small desktop footprint.
Ender 5 modular spool mount design with attachment holes where you can print and choose to attach either:
- Open filament guide
- Closed loop guide
- Filament run-out guide
To add the desired attachment, press the tab end into the hole on top of the holder first then press down to clip the bottom tab in.
