LulzBot TAZ 6 Config Bundle

We recently received a donation of a Taz 6 3D printer to add to our fleet of 3D printers.

Unfortunately, PrusaSlicer (as of 2.6.0) only has premade configs for the LulzBot TAZ 6 Aero and doesn't have profiles for the stock TAZ 6.

Since we use PrusaSlicer for most of our work, as well as teaching our classes, we've put together a set of configs including the printer itself, 6 different quality settings, and 3 materials.

All our settings are based almost entirely on the settings from Cura LulzBot Edition, however, not everything translates perfectly between the two.

Files:

  1. PrusaSlicer_config_TAZ6.ini
    • Printer config
      • LulzBot TAZ 6 Single Extruder 0.5mm

    • Material configs (2.85mm)
      • Generic ABS
      • Generic PETG
      • Generic PLA

    • Quality configs
      • 0.08mm ULTRADETAIL
      • 0.14mm DETAIL
      • 0.20mm QUALITY
      • 0.25mm STANDARD
      • 0.30mm SPEED
      • 0.38mm DRAFT

  2. taz6_bed.stl
  3. taz6_bed.svg
    • .SVG texture for the print bed

  4. taz6_bed_artwork.ai
    • Illustrator file if you want to modify the graphics

  5. taz6_3DBenchy.3mf
    • Just a classic Benchy sliced with the settings provided

Usage:

(tested on version 2.6.0 alpha 6)

  1. To use the configs:
    1. Open PrusaSlicer
    2. File → Import → Import Config Bundle…
    3. Select and open “PrusaSlicer_config_TAZ6.ini”

  2. To use the custom bed model and/or texture:
    1. Save them somewhere on your computer
    2. Open PrusaSlicer
    3. Navigate to the Print Settings window
    4. Under General, select Bed Shape: Set…
    5. Select load, and locate the file you want to use

  3. Due to the larger filament diameter, all custom material settings are set for compatibility only with the Taz 6, and standard materials aren't available.
We plan on updating this as we find new materials to use, or depending on upgrades we may add.
