This is printable AM5 build plate bracket derived from original metal frame bracket. It allows to cut ~120g of printer bed mass.
Recommended printer settings:
- perimeters: 5, at least 4
- infill: gyroid 20-40%, depending on expected mass savings
- supports should not be needed but check holes bridges after slicing. You might want to enforce supports there
- filament: ABS or ASA for “mount” pucks as these need to be temperature resistant, for the bracket itself you want filament with highest possible flexural modulus (>4000MPa), like PLA-CF, PLA-GF, ASA
To mount it you'll also need 20mm m4 screws with countersunk head and nuts.
After printing please check dimensions as pictured on the last screenshot. You should not exceed +-0.15mm tolerances for linear dimensions and holes should be spot on.
This is still beta. It works but I’m not fully happy with result. I wanted to save more mass and it turned out not that easy with needed rigidity of the bracket.
