This is a copy of the plastic cap that sits over the spindle on a Emco mill attachment for a small Emco lathe. The old one broke, so I measured it and modeled it, and printed a reproduction. It has worked well for the past five years.

The bottom of the cap has three “teeth” that rely on the elasticity of the material to grip the cap into place. However, if you print the cap standing up, those teeth may break easily. I printed the cap on its side and that solves the problem, but the conical shape of the cap will look bad because it needs suports; the finish will be rough on one side.
