Background
ZOOZ electric bikes have a stem with an integrated LED headlight.  This in itself isn't problematic however in order to aim the light towards the ground in a usable manner, the stem is shaped in such a way that if the bars are cranked hard left or right, the stem will collide with the top frame rails, chipping off the powdercoat, or in some cases even denting the fame.

As you can see in the attached photos my bike started getting damaged, so I created this snap on guard to protect the frame.

Materials
I tried printing it in PLA, Nylon and ABS.  Of them the ABS was the best, offering a stiff structure that retained some level of flexibility so that the guard could be snapped on and off of the frame.  I recommend using a 100% infill for impact strength.

Printing
On my Creality Ender 3 S1 Plus:

  • Polymaker ABS
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • 260c extruder
  • 95c bed
  • 40-50mm/s
  • No fan
  • Skirt only

If you have adhesion issues, I swear by hairspray.

Assembly
Simply snap the guards onto the frame.
