I wanted to measure the diameter of a cable but at the time did not have a set of Vernier callipers
This does a fair job of measuring a cable's (or other round thing's) diameter from 1mm to 9mm
Each gap measuring a 2mm range eg from 3 to 5mm
Picture shows a 3.5mm diameter cable
