This is a replacement shade ring (nut) for standard E14 lamp sockets (M28 thread).
I designed this to be a bit beefier than the original stock rings, which often crack over time. I also designed it with looser tolerances than many other models found online, ensuring it screws on easily even if your printer isn't perfectly calibrated.
Design Features:
Thread: Standard M28 (Fits E14 thermoplastic sockets).
Fit: Looser tolerance for easier installation.
Durability: Thicker walls for added strength.
Source: Designed in Fusion 360.
⚠ IMPORTANT SAFETY & MATERIAL WARNING ⚠
Please read before printing:
sockets and lightbulbs generate significant heat. Standard PLA has a low Glass Transition Temperature (softening point) of around 60°C (140°F).
DO NOT use PLA if you intend to use incandescent or halogen bulbs. The heat generated will almost certainly deform the ring, causing the lampshade to fall or the plastic to melt onto the socket.
LED Bulbs: While LEDs run cooler, the base of the bulb and the socket electronics can still get hot enough to soften PLA over long periods of use.
Recommendation: For long-term safety and durability, I strongly recommend printing this in a more heat-resistant material such as:
PETG (Good balance of ease and heat resistance)
ABS / ASA (Best heat resistance)
PC (Polycarbonate)
Use PLA at your own risk and only with very low-wattage, cool-running LEDs.
Print Settings
