A sieve with interchangeable screens. Use it to filter whatever you want, but I made it for separating seeds from chaff.
Print the sifter body and whatever screen plates you want. The side of the plate that sits on the bed should be facing up when you insert it in the strainer. Push it down all the way and it will snap into place.
Files are included for 2mm to 5mm screen plates. Alternatively, you can use the solid plate file and create the screen by setting print settings as described below. The solid plate method will allow you to print screens with even smaller holes.
Solid Plate Settings
- 4 perimeters
- 0 top and bottom layers
- Grid infill pattern (rectilinear may also work)
- Set infill density to control the hole size. (60% grid infill makes holes that look close to 1mm)
- Reduce infill speed to match perimeter speed because infill print quality matters
