Panel mount solution for either the 7-segment or 14-segment display by Adafruit with the HT16K33 backpack. The mount snaps into place and stays securely with the help of the long-edge protrusions.
This was originally designed for a project I was making using a 3.18 mm hardboard panel that was cut with a CNC. If you'd like to use it with different panel thicknesses there is a parametric design file attached with a panel thickness parameter. You can also reach out to me and I can make and upload files for requested panel thicknesses.
Panel Requirements
Cutout: 55.5 mm x 28.5 mm
Material Thickness: 3.18 mm (0.125 inches)
Due to the brim, the cutout can be slightly larger and the mount will still cover the cutout but it does have a small tolerance. If you need more clearance or prefer a larger border there is an 8mm border version in the files.
Screws
The HT16K33 Backpack uses M2 screw holes. After printing depending on your printers the screw holes might be tight but I was able to easily enlarge them by poking a small screwdriver or tweezers in. I found that 4mm - 6mm screw lengths were best to use.
Printing
Models shown were printed in PLA with a 0.2mm layer height, 2 walls, 6 top and bottom layers, and 15% infill (grid)
