Since the cardboard spools from Jayo are unfortunately not meant to go into the AMS, and so far, no ring adapter or other spool model has fit well or operated smoothly, so I created my own.
The spool needs around 140 to 155 grams of filament with 15% infill, making it not lightweight but rather sturdy and smooth-running. So far it has always fit perfectly into the spools core.
Prints tested with:
0.4 nozzle, 3 walls, 15% infill, 0.2 layer height, no supports
0.6 nozzle, 2 walls, 15% infill, 0.3 layer height, no supports
Assembly
To assemble, first remove a cardboard side of the Jayo spool and replace it with a printed half, some of the glue residue may need to be removed. Hold the spool and turn it over, then remove the other side, now screw the halves together until they are tight.
It's best to wrap the filament with painter's tape beforehand to prevent it from unwinding on its own.
