A standee for Gloomhaven monster tokens. Designed for easy insertion without any risk of damage while still providing enough grip so that the tokens can be easily manipulated on the board. It should teoretically also work with any other cardboard token that is 2mm thick.

I recommend printing a test model first before commiting to a batch as even different colors of PLA result in slightly different dimensions of the slot. All the ones are tried were fine, but there was a noticable variance in the grip, so it is conceivable that some slight rescaling might be necessary to get proper functionality.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to ensure that the seams are not positioned inside the slot. The provided .3mf file includes setting that move the seam to a position where it does not affect critical dimensions while not harming the looks too much.

I recommend printing at 0.2mm layer height (which is used in the provided .3mf file) as some of the curves were designed with this height in mind; it is probably now very important but in case you want to use another height then I would still recommend printing a test model first to ensure that there are no edges that could damage the tokens.

The provided .3mf file does not include ironing as it led to some problems in my test prints. Ironing the tops of the socket walls compromised their shape and sometimes created edges (that could cause damage), while ironing the top of the base sometimes led to weaker connection between the base and the walls of the socket that were then prone to breaking off. Ironing of the base does improve the looks though, so feel free to experiment if you wish.

Edit: I added a new version with slightly more slanted walls for easier entry (the width of the slot at the base is the same). I also added a version with hexagonal base instead of a square one; we use it to differentiate spawned monsters that do not drop coins.

While I made this model from the ground up, I would like to acknowledge that I was inspired by the standee designed by @MitchelDZ,
