Below is a set of helpful instructions for printing and assembling your ornaments.

Instructions -

Note: None of these prints require supports!

Also, no glue or fasteners are required! Only a hook for hanging your ornaments.

Everything can be printed with PLA

Filament Spool

  • When orienting the “filament” file, lay the flat edge on the build plate like the image below. (It doesn't matter which edge, as long as it's flat).
  • For this piece, I recommend a layer thickness of 0.16mm to keep the resolution looking nice, however, this is not necessary
  • When orienting the “spool 1” and “spool 2” files, lay the large patterned face on the build plate with the threads facing up similar to the image below.
  • For this piece, the layer lines don't need to be as small, but I just used a 0.16mm thickness to match the filament
  • Once your prints are done, you should have 3 parts that look similar to this.
  • To finish assembly, just screw the spools into the filament until the patterned face is against the filament's edge. (The threads may be tight depending on your 3d printer's settings but using 0.16mm layer thickness on my Ender 3 Pro worked just fine).
  • All that is left to do is put a hook through the loop and hang your new ornament!

Extruding Nozzle -

  • When orienting the “nozzle” file, place the threads facing down with the tip of the nozzle facing up like the image below
  • I would recommend a brim for this print however, I did not use one and mine turned out fine.
  • Layer thickness is not too important here but I just went with 0.16mm for consistency.
  • When printing the “snowflake”  or “snowman” file, orient it so that the large face is facing down.
  • Again, layer thickness isn't too important here but I used 0.16mm for consistency
  • Once you have printed your parts, you should have two pieces that look like this.
  • To finish assembly, just push the snowflake's or snowman's clip into the tip of the nozzle until it snaps.
  • All that is left to do is put a hook through the loop and hang your new ornament!

Thank You!

I really appreciate you downloading and printing my models. If you could, please upload makes of your prints so I can see what color schemes you used and have a wonderful holidays!

Also, feel free to remix. There are plenty of designs you could make with extruding nozzle. An example I thought of was some kind of statue with the nozzle towards the top looking as if the statue was being 3D printed by a floating nozzle.

I have added a nozzle file without the hook hole to help with your remixes.
