I was in search for a case for the popular LD2410B radar presence sensor. However, non of the versions I could find matched what I was looking for. I had LD2410Bs with and without headers here. I also ordered different USB-C breakout boards from Aliexpress - as sometimes the one and sometimes the other is cheaper.
Therefore you find a few variations with this model:
- 8mm high bottom cases, to be used with LD2410B without pins
- 12.5mm high bottom cases, to be used with LD2410B with pins. Space is sufficient to keep the connector cable on top of the pins, making the sensor reusable for other purposes in case you have them.
Both versions do have a corresponding lid.
Also these variants do exist for two different USB-C breakout boards. These two are the most popular on Aliexpress. If there should be the need for another breakout board, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.
For example you can get the USB-C boards here:
- USB-C small variant → https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005708781461.html
- USB-C wide variant → https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005187670446.html
check on Aliexpress or your preferred source where you can get the best price. In the pictures for this model I have put them side by side. There is also a picture of the LD2410B with and without pins side by side.
Both, the LD2410B and the USB-C breakout board should snap tight in the case. However I added supporting parts to the lids in case it is a little bit loose on your printer. Especially the USB-C breakout board could otherwise move if plugged and unplugged frequently (which shouldn't be the use case except during the time I was testing ;) )
The lid should be a very tight fit on the bottom part. Therefore I added a small notch to the bottom piece which allows to loosen the lid in case you need to.
What parts go together can be seen in the overview picture I took. As well the filename should be sufficient to help you choosing your variant.
Printer settings
All parts should print fine without support. However, the only place where support would be placed by the slicer is the opening for the USB-C port. So it is safe to print with support if your printer is not well bridging the gap.
These are the settings I used on my Creality CR-6 SE:
- 0.2mm layer heigth
- Support: yes
- Material: PLA
