While there are a ton of chessboards, I wanted a simple, 2 tone chessboard which fit together tightly (since it was too big for my printbed).  I also wanted to print it with my AMS rather than gluing/snapping squares together.  Everything I looked at seemed to have poor tolerances or different design goals or ascetics.

So rather than continuing to dive into more, I decided to just model my own.

You will need 2 each of UL and UR and 8 bowties.  I recommend only printing one bowtie initially and scaling it to properly fit your printed board for a nice tight fit.

I printed on my Bambu P1S with PolyTera marble (white and blue).  Used 60c bed, 3 perimeters, 15% gyroid, and concentric top and bottom patterns.  I printed playfield down for more consistent top print quality (not sure if this was needed).

My print had a slight overexpansion on the topmost layer - wondering if outer/inner walls might help (but have not tried).  If you have this, a light sanding or deburring should help it fit together tighter.

Provided as step files to more easily handle the color splits.  If somebody really wants a STL let me know but all of the slicers I use will take the step files now-a-days.

Fusion 360 file is attached and parameters are provided for things like square size and shadowline width if you want to modify it.
