Snowshoe spike caps
The protective caps for the spikes of snowshoes protect your gear during transport, e.g. when strapping them onto your backpack. Unfortunately, I lost some of the transparent caps of my snowshoes, so I figured: Time to print some replacement parts using my colorful green TPU (95A) filament 😎
Dimensions
The inner diameter of the cap is 8.3mm, the height is 10mm. They fit well on the hexagonal spikes of my TSL-325 snowshoes.
The flexible material allows the cap to also fit on the cylindrical spikes of the TSL-418!
And I'm sure that there a plenty of other models of snowshoes where these caps could become handy. If yours have different dimensions, simply scale them in Prusa Slicer.
Print instructions
- Print with TPU/FLEX without support structures. Less than 1g per cap!
- Activating the fan and reducing the print speed may improve the overall quality
- Print a bunch of these caps at once: enable sequential printing
