A birdhouse utilizing a wood stacking style. This birdhouse has:
- 2 inch diameter entry way for birds and a backdoor to allow easy access for cleaning.
- Backdoor with hinges on both sides which allows the door to open from either hinge or be taken off completely. Insert or remove pins to operate backdoor.
- Hanger on top
- Post for birds to have footing for entering and leaving.
- Max dimensions of 5"x5"x5.5".
- Inside square footing of 3.5"x3.5" with a pitched ceiling.
The model in the provided photos used PLA to test the full print in place of all components (house, backdoor, and the backdoor pins). Printed full assembly to ensure the alignment of hinges is true. PETG should be used to print this model if planning to use outside for either decoration or birds to use.
Notes for printing:
- Use .012"-.015" layer height. Gap between hinges are between .015"-.016"
- Ideally use PVA for supports.
- Supports for roof and post are needed. Roof pitch is 45*. Inside ceiling pitch is 60*. Refer to provided picture for more information.
- Support the pins and hinges. If you do not want to use the provided pins, a 1/8 x 1 ¼" cotter pin can be used instead.
