I really appreciate you if you can consider a coffee for me if you like the design!
I have many empty plastic filament spools. I wanted to use these empty spools for organizing cables such as quarter inch/guitar cables, XLR cables, and many more.
Parts
- Inland Old Center Main.stl
- Compatible with Micro Center Inland old filament spool.
- Inland Old Center Attachment.stl
- Compatible with Micro Center Inland old filament spool.
- Handle M4 x 35mm.stl
- File updated on Jan 28, 2024 1:34PM US Eastern with better center diameter and 0.3mm spaces between the rod and the outer handle.
- Use M4 x 35mm Hex Socket Head Cap Screws
- Insert M4 nut during print for higher stability
Required Parts
- M4 nut (2)
- M4 x 35mm (1)
- If you want to include M4 nut inside the handle, pause at 6.6mm height, insert one M4 nut, then continue printing.
- I used PETG but any preferred filament should work.
Gcode
- Inland Handle Pause at 6.6mm_0.2mm_PETG_MK3S_1h31m.gcode
- This gcode pauses at 6.6mm height for M4 nut insertion during printing. DO NOT USE THIS GCODE and create yours if you print handle without M4 nut inside.
- Inland Old Center Main Attachment_0.3mm_PETG_MK3S_1h21m.gcode
- This gcode has multi-height printing 0.3mm and 0.2mm. If you like single height printing, make yours with either 0.1mm or 0.2mm layer height.
Assemble
- Slide Inland Old Inner Main in the inner filament spool.
- Put Inland Old Inner Attachment from the other side to lock the inner piece.
- Insert M4 x 35mm hex socket head cap screw in the Handle M4 x 35mm then screw if you have M4 nut inside the handle.
- Tight handle through one of the hole in the spool with M4 nut from the inner side.
Note
- M4 nut inside the handle is optional, if you tighten the handle into the spool.
- You can leave the handle unattached and insert temporarily when you reel. M4 nut inside the handle is mandatory in this use case.
