This part inserts on the end of blinds to allow them to ride the 100+ yr old window molding as though it is a rail.
The problem comes from the blinds being just too wide to really fit in the front of the window and the landlord doesn't care that the crack and break over time (see photo). This sliding rail mechanism keeps them outside the bounds of the. molding and lets the run smoothly without issue!
