The Aqara Cube (MFKZQ01LM) is a fun little smart home gadget. It allows you to control compatible (or not if using Home Assistant) smart devices with actions such as rotating and sliding, depending on which face is currently up. The problem is the cube is largely featureless, which makes keeping track of the faces hard.
This design has different shapes in the center of each face to help distinguish them.
More importantly, it looks really cool.
Printing
Print face down. If doing a color change it is easier to do all at once.
Note: This was sliced in Cura using the “Exclusive” Slicing Tolerance setting. No allowance for tolerance was made in the model.
Filaments:
Bed: Carbon Fiber patterned PET sheet
Assembly Guide
Double sided sticky tape.
Assembly Tips and tricks
- Choose one side face on the cube and have it sit facing up, then set up the tape on this face. Set the matching printer cover aside.
- Assemble the other sides around the cube without sticking them down, making sure to line up notches, it doesn't matter if the numbers match up yet.
- Take the side that you set aside (that matches the uncovered cube face), and stick it onto the cube. The other faces will help align it correctly.
- Rinse, repeat. (Don't actually rinse).
