This planter was designed for apartment or dorm living, where nails in walls are often not an option. The cleat is the exact size of five 5lb Command Strips, or rather the section of the strips that have adhesive on them. The whole model can be scaled down to fit 3lb Command Strips as well.

A large build volume is required to print at full size. I personally used an Ender 5 Plus, printed in marble PLA, right-side-up (opening on top) to minimize the need for supports. Using the smooth side of a glass bed will ensure firm adhesion between the Command strips and the cleat. Textured beds may or may not give you trouble with this.

If you're planting vines, like I did, pair with a hanging trellis to give the vines something to grow on. My design here.

Disclaimer: I cannot guarantee that your walls or the paint on them will hold. I can only say that in the 2 apartments and 1 house that I have hung my own planter, it has never fallen. During the design process I calculated the weight of the planter when filled to the brim with water. The combined strength of five 5lb Command strips should be more than enough for that scenario. Depending on the quality of your walls, the paint on them, and whether the paint was applied properly may all have an effect on the strength of the cleat.
