The lights I used are these fairly inexpensive vehicle spotlights from Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01L3J52WW

The contacts are made from brass shim stock trimmed with scissors and bent with a pair of pliers into the shape you can see on the last photograph.

On that photograph you can also see which switch I've used. I bought it at a local electronics supply store.  In the last photograph at the top you can see the switch and the bag it came in.

I've use a 5/16" bolt for the main shaft as that was what was available locally. No reason you couldn't use an 8mm bolt instead… you might have to file the hex slightly to get it to fit in the recesses.

Wiring itself is quite explanatory. That said if  you need help let me know and I'll make a diagram.

The thread for the PG7 wire gland I've drawn to be tight enough that a counter nut isn't needed

4x  M3 x 20 flat head screws

4x  Nylock M3 nuts

1x   Mini spst switch

1x   5/16" x 3 ½" bolt and nut

1x   10mm x 100mm piece of 0.3mm thick brass shim stock (.012" thick)

1x   PG7 Wire gland
