Designed to use Cisco Rack-Kit-T1 ears (Catalyst 3850 / 9300). These were designed to assist with installing rack mount gear easier for a single person. They were designed to help stabilize the device before securing it with screws. Especially helpful when installing equipment that is sticking out from the rack more like in the picture. But will help with equipment that mounts flush to the front of the rack as you would then only need to support the back with one hand while you screw it in.
They have worked well for 1RU Cisco gear. While I would not use these as a long term support for running gear they work well to help you install equipment on your own without having to balance it while installing it.
Needed Hardware:
- 1 set of Cisco Rack-Kit-T1 ears (Catalyst 3850 / 9300)
- 12 x #8-32 x 1-½ IN flat head screws with nuts
Printing Instructions:
I have found that PETG works best for this (or any stronger filaments) and it prints best with the top supporting surface flat on the bed. Supports are not needed. I have found that a gyroid infill has worked well for this and it does not need a high infill percentage to be strong, but obviously higher infill will make a stronger tool.
