About model

This model is designed to illuminate the print surface of the printer. Please ensure to read the entire description carefully for comprehensive understanding.

Before you start

Before commencing, it's important to note that additional components beyond the printed parts are required for the complete assembly.

List of necessary things:

  • Led Strip | Lenght: 254 mm
  • Aluminum profile | A: 6,6 mm | B: 14,4 mm | Lenght: 254 mm
  • Power supply | Determine the voltage according to the led strip.

“Of course, if you have a 24V LED strip, you can use the printer's power. However, in my situation I opted for my own power source because I use a color changing LED strip.”

How to Setup

  • To start, you'll need to select one of the models. You can discern the differences in the image provided below.

“Personally, I prefer z holding as the LED lighting is concealed behind the printer.”

  • The next step is to print the model. All files are exported as they should be printed, so there's no need to change the side that will be placed on the print bed. Unfortunately, these models cannot be printed without support structures. Then it's just a matter of selecting the material, and you're ready to print.

“I print my model in draft mode with organic supports. As for the material, I use Prusament PET-G Prusa Orange to ensure color coordination.”

  • The final step involves assembly. Simply adhere the LED strip to the aluminum profile, slide it into the printed model. Then, arrange the cabling, connect the LED strips to the power source, and you're all set!

“It wasn't too challenging, was it? I'm, of course, open to any feedback you may have. As another option, I'm preparing a mount without using an aluminum profile.”
