You can use it in 2 ways
1 With amortization. By tightening the upper part completely and the bottom part only tight enough so that the pen does not move sideways bus can still move up or down. Then add a rubber as seen in the pictures
2 Without amortization. The second way only requires the bottom part (This way you can easily damage your buildplate if you are not careful with calibration ). You simply tighten the bottom part completely so that the pen does not move in any way
