Constantly repairing the eject linkage, especially with the 480/580 decks, I designed and 3D printed a replacement part engineered for a snug interference fit. The fit is tight enough that the ferrule will dent before the part slides, but a touch of adhesive won't hurt. It is far beefier than the stock part, so even when printed with a material weaker than Nylon, it should hold up to the limited abuse the part sees. Just make sure it is chemically resistant.
Another effective method for securing the new part is to heat a capacitor lead or a thin metal rod and drive it through the base of the new part and the original, forming a heat-staked pin that locks them together.
