Here's a snowball gift that I made for my girlfriend for our 1st anniversary.
It could be a gift for your loved ones or your own personal desktop LED lamp!
I made a diy cloud that I put inside but you can put there anything that you like.
DIMENSIONS
Glass globe:
Diameter: around 12 cm
Height: 9.8 cm
Hole's diameter: 7 cm
Base:
Height: ~ 5.4 cm
Max diameter (top) : ~ 11cm
Max diameter (bottom) : ~ 12.5 cm
Vertical walls height where you can put LED's : 1 cm
Cavity diameter: Inner: 6.6 cm, Outer: 7.9 cm
PRINTING
I used PLA but you could also print with PETG.
You could add your own date, text or some emblem of your liking.
ASSEMBLY
To put the two pieces together use superglue in the printed holes (you could also apply superglue on the outer edge of the bottom part for extra area) and insert printed knobs on the bottom part in the holes.
I recommend putting some weight on top of the glued base and waiting a bit so the glue can harden (Personally waited whole 24h to let the superglue fully harden).
There are two vertical walls where you can put LED strips - one inside the globe and second on the outside.
The glass globe sits in the cavity in the top part and can be secured with a help of a hot glue.
You can scale the model up or down according to your glass globe size (The most important thing is the diameter of cavity where the globe sits!).
There's a lot of free space under the base where you could put a LED controller so you can change lights with a remote!
