Disclaimer: I am not a practicing physician nor licensed in the medical field. This device is only able to alleviate discomfort from Piriformis Syndrome or Sciatica. Please use at your own risk.

The Piriformis Therapy Block is an alternative to using a tennis ball for alleviating discomfort from Piriformis Syndrome or Sciatica when performing activities requiring long hours of sitting. The device accomplishes this by applying pressure to your sciatic nerve, with a textured surface to provide additional grip.

I personally have used this for over a year and it has provided me relief multiple times. It's also nice that it doesn't roll around and fall off my chair whenever I need to shift in my seat or get up. I do hope this device is able to provide some assistance to others.

Instructions

When sitting, place the device perpendicular to your leg and directly on your sciatic nerve.

  • Depending on severity of discomfort, you may also place it directly on your piriformis.
  • While initially designed to be used with office chairs, it should work with most sitting surfaces that can fully support your butt.

WARNING: Don't sit on the device for long periods of time. Depending on your sitting posture and the type of chair used, numbness will set in around 15-30 minutes of use.

Print Settings

  • Material: PLA
  • Layer Height: 0.24mm
  • Supports: Off

While I only used PLA, any durable material should work. Just make sure it can handle a drop from high surfaces.
