This is an implementation of a eurorack enclosure using things from the hardware store. It's the base for my raspberry pi eurorack system.
I've made no provisions for power though there are options in the group I'm going to create and link here.
The heart of the system is 2 19ish inch pieces of aluminum flat bar 1/8" by 1.5". If you're part of the sane world, get 4x40mm stock or 2x40mm stock and print the models that match your choice. If you can't get any of those sizes, freecad sources are provided and you can modify to fit any stock that is thin enough to not interfere with the internal spacing. You should cut the pieces to fit fairly snugly between the rails of your rack but the exact spacing isn't critical. Most racks are wider than the standard 19 inches so take an actual measurement do not guess.
On to the aluminum goes the two rack ears and the assembly can be bolted into the rack. Then sections of the nut track can be printed to fill in the space in between. They simply click into place and can be mixed and matched to fill your exact width.
The tracks themselves take m3 nuts which are slid into the ends. Modules are then affixed with m3 screws. Get an m3 kit, exact lengths will vary and if you're screws are too long, bad things happen.
