I'm using a Xeon E5 2630-V4 that I know doesn't get hot with this cooler.
Is there a valid reason for this? No, but I got free parts and had this cooler lying around and own a printer, so why not?
The cooler has captive(I believe that's the term but I may be wrong) mounting screws attached to the base that catch motherboard screws(2x M3x5x7) nicely. I have to find the thread specs for the screws(4) I used to attach to the socket mounting points.
Waiting on ram for this system so I can't guarantee anything but I do know it's a snug fit and has good mounting pressure.
