This is a “spillproof” container intended to hold cutting fluid, lubricant, or anything else that's applied with a brush. To use, fill with a liquid of your choice up to the fill line inside and screw on the lid. No more than a little dribble should come out when you knock it over.
I printed this at 0.2mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle. It probably won't work well at any coarser sizes. You might get some unintentional bridging on the threads in the top couple layers of the body, but it should still work just fine after trimming or pulling off the excess material with your fingers.
Slicing recommendations:
- no supports (print the jar upright and the lid upside down)
- random seam position, not aligned
- increase perimeter count to three or four to prevent seepage through the layer lines
Problems:
- it's difficult to unscrew the lid if you tighten it too much. the “elaborate” version of the lid might help but i'm not very happy with that design.
Trivia:
- overall height 2.55"
- overall diameter 3.35"
- 2"-16 thread
- brush hole internal diameter .625"
- theoretical no-spill capacity is 4.6in^3 (75mL), indicated by the fill line
- designed with Solid Edge Community Edition
